What brow lamination does
Lamination is essentially a perm for your brows. A lifting solution softens the hair's structure so each hair can be brushed into place, then a setting solution holds that shape. The result is brows that look fuller and more uniform, with visible, groomed hairs that stay put without gel.
Because it works only with the hair you already have, lamination can make full or unruly brows look polished and make moderately sparse brows look denser. It cannot create hair where there is none; for gaps and thin areas, microblading or powder brows are the better option.
Who brow lamination suits
- Full, coarse, or curly brows that grow in different directions
- Brows that will not stay in place without gel
- Clients who want a fuller, brushed-up look before an event or wedding
- Anyone who wants fuller-looking brows but is not ready for pigment
Brow lamination is not recommended over irritated or broken skin, over very recent permanent makeup, or for people with a known sensitivity to perming solutions. Tell Mahsa about allergies, eczema, or sensitive skin before booking so she can advise whether a patch test or a different treatment is the better choice.
Brow lamination vs microblading
| Brow lamination | Microblading | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Reshapes and sets your natural hairs | Places pigment in hair-like strokes in the skin |
| Best for | Full, coarse, curly, or unruly brows that need direction | Sparse, patchy, or thin brows that need shape and density |
| Needles or pigment | No | Yes |
| How long it lasts | About 4–6 weeks | Fades gradually over one to two years or more |
| Downtime | Keep brows dry for about a day | About 10 days of aftercare |
Not sure which you need? Mention both in your consultation request and Mahsa will recommend one.
Before your appointment
- Ask about a patch test. Product manufacturers typically recommend one 48 to 72 hours before the first treatment.
- Stop retinol and other strong actives around the brows and eyes for three to five days beforehand.
- Lamination is not done over irritated, sunburned, or broken skin, or over recent permanent makeup.
- Tell Mahsa about sensitive skin, allergies, or eye conditions.
Aftercare
- Keep brows dry and avoid steam, saunas, and sweaty workouts for about the first 24 hours.
- Avoid rubbing the brows and skip brow makeup for the first day.
- Brush brows into shape each morning; a nourishing brow oil or serum helps keep hairs conditioned.
- Wait at least the length of the result, about six weeks, before laminating again, so hairs are not over-processed.

Questions clients ask
How long does brow lamination last?
Brow lamination typically lasts about four to six weeks, following the natural growth cycle of your brow hairs.
Does brow lamination damage your eyebrows?
Done correctly with brow-specific products and proper spacing between treatments, lamination should not damage healthy brows. Over-processing, repeating it too often, or leaving solutions on too long can cause dryness or breakage.
Can I get brow lamination with thin eyebrows?
Lamination can make moderately thin brows look fuller by lifting and spreading the hairs you have, but it cannot fill bare gaps. For very sparse brows, microblading or powder brows usually work better.
Brow lamination or microblading: which is better?
Lamination suits brows with enough hair that need shape and direction, lasts weeks, and uses no pigment. Microblading suits sparse or patchy brows, adds density with pigment, and lasts much longer.
When can I wash my face after brow lamination?
Keep your brows dry for about the first 24 hours so the set can hold, then wash normally and brush them into place.
How often can I get brow lamination?
Wait until the previous lamination has grown out, roughly every six weeks at most, to avoid over-processing the hair.
