Permanent Eyeliner in Tarzana

Permanent eyeliner is a cosmetic tattoo along the lash line that defines the eyes without daily liner. Mahsa Gerami creates styles from a barely-there lash line enhancement to a soft, defined liner, designed around your eye shape.

Eyeliner styles

Permanent eyeliner styles
StyleWhat it looks likeOften chosen by
Lash line enhancementPigment placed between and along the lashes so lashes look thicker, with no visible lineClients who want the most natural result, or who wear glasses
Classic linerA thin, defined line along the upper lash lineClients who wear liner every day and want to skip it
Soft defined liner with a subtle flickA slightly thicker line that extends a little at the outer cornerClients who like a lifted, polished eye

The style and thickness are drawn and approved with you before treatment. Many clients start subtle; a line can be built up at the follow-up, while a line that is too heavy is hard to take back.

Who it may suit

  • People who wear eyeliner daily, work out, swim, or travel often
  • Sparse or light lashes that need definition
  • Clients whose eyeliner smudges or who have trouble applying liner steadily
  • Brides who want defined eyes through tears and a long day

Permanent eyeliner is not performed during pregnancy, on anyone under 18, or when there is an eye infection, irritation, or inflammation such as blepharitis. If you have had eye surgery, dry eye, or a condition affecting the eyelids, talk with your eye doctor first and tell Mahsa at your consultation.

What to expect

  1. 01Consultation and consentDiscuss your style and health history, and complete the health questionnaire and consent form.
  2. 02DesignMahsa maps the liner to your eye shape and lash line and confirms the style with you.
  3. 03TreatmentPigment is placed along the lash line. Remove contact lenses beforehand and bring your glasses.
  4. 04AftercareMild swelling is common for a short time. You leave with written aftercare instructions.

Healing and aftercare

Eyelids can look puffy right after the appointment, and the liner looks darker and thicker than it will once healed. Light flaking along the lash line over the first week is normal.

  • Do not rub, pick, or scratch the lash line.
  • Skip eye makeup, mascara, and lash serums on the area until Mahsa says it is healed.
  • Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, and direct sun while healing.
  • Wait to wear contact lenses until you are cleared, and follow your written aftercare exactly.
  • Contact your physician promptly for increasing pain, swelling, discharge, or any change in vision.

A follow-up is scheduled at least four weeks later, once the skin has healed, to refine the line or add definition.

Eye-area safety

The eye area is delicate. Cleveland Clinic lists risks specific to eyeliner tattooing, including lash loss and eyelid injury, and permanent eyeliner can affect the quality of eye-area MRI scans, so always tell your imaging team. A careful artist works conservatively, uses sterile single-use needles, and does not treat irritated eyes.

Permanent eyeliner pricing

Pricing depends on the style and whether you want upper, lower, or both lash lines. Mahsa confirms pricing when you request a consultation.

Questions clients ask

How long does permanent eyeliner last?

Permanent eyeliner fades gradually over several years, and many people refresh it periodically. How quickly it fades depends on your skin, sun exposure, and the pigment used.

Does permanent eyeliner hurt?

Most people feel some discomfort along the lash line, and it varies from person to person. Clients often describe it as quicker and easier than they expected, and Mahsa checks in throughout.

What is the difference between permanent eyeliner and lash line enhancement?

Lash line enhancement places pigment between the lashes so they look fuller, with no visible line. Permanent eyeliner creates a defined line along the lashes, from thin to slightly winged.

Can I wear contacts or eye makeup after permanent eyeliner?

Not right away. Remove contacts before the appointment and wait to wear them, and to use eye makeup or mascara on the area, until Mahsa confirms the lash line has healed.

Is permanent eyeliner safe?

It carries risks like any cosmetic tattoo, and the eye area needs extra care; known risks include infection, allergic reaction, lash loss, and eyelid injury. Choose an experienced artist, follow aftercare, and tell your doctor about any eye conditions first.

Does permanent eyeliner need a touch-up?

Yes. A follow-up at least four weeks after the first session refines the line once it has healed, and periodic refreshes keep it defined.
