Why timing matters so much
Permanent makeup does not look finished on day one. Color is darker and bolder at first, the skin flakes as it heals, and strokes or lip color can look patchy for a short time before settling. A follow-up appointment after healing is part of the process, and industry guidance says it should be no sooner than four weeks for brows and eyeliner and six weeks for lips.
Add those together and a brow or lip treatment takes roughly two to three months from first session to settled result. Leave extra room in case your skin heals slowly or you want a second refinement.
A wedding countdown for permanent makeup

Which treatments brides choose
Brows
Microblading, powder, or combination brows are the most popular pre-wedding treatment: they frame the face in every photo and do not smudge with tears or heat. Surface flaking usually finishes within about 7 to 10 days, with color settling over the following weeks.
Lips
Lip blushing adds soft color that looks polished even when lipstick wears off during dinner. Healed color can take around four weeks to show. If you have ever had cold sores, talk with your physician well ahead of your appointment.
Eyeliner
Permanent eyeliner or lash line enhancement keeps eyes defined through happy tears. The eyelids can be puffy right after treatment, which is one more reason not to schedule it close to the wedding.
What to avoid in the final weeks
- Any first-time permanent makeup within about four weeks of the wedding
- Picking at flaking skin, which can pull out pigment
- Heavy sun, tanning, and pools while treated areas heal
- New peels, laser, or strong exfoliating skincare near treated areas
- Assuming permanent makeup replaces wedding-day makeup; it is a base, and your bridal makeup builds on it
Protecting results on the honeymoon
Sun exposure speeds up fading. Once fully healed, use sunscreen around brows and lips and wear a hat on beach days. If you are traveling soon after a session, tell Mahsa so aftercare can be planned around your trip.

How far before my wedding should I get microblading?
At least three to four months before. That allows for healing, a follow-up about four to six weeks after the first session, and time for the color to settle before your trial and photos.
Can I get microblading two weeks before my wedding?
It is not recommended. Brows would still be healing and may look darker or patchy, and there would be no time for the follow-up that perfects the shape.
How long before my wedding should I get lip blushing?

Should I get permanent makeup before or after my bridal makeup trial?
