Where these numbers come from

In September 2026 we reviewed the published price pages of several Los Angeles–area permanent makeup studios, from the Westside to the San Fernando Valley and Pasadena, plus industry and medical publications. Studios are not named here, and many luxury artists do not publish prices at all, so treat these as broad market context. Prices change often.

Published price ranges

Published Los Angeles-area permanent makeup price ranges, September 2026
TreatmentPublished first-session rangeNotes
MicrobladingAbout $450–$1,000Higher prices often reflect senior artists or included follow-ups
Powder, ombré, or combination browsAbout $450–$1,000Usually priced close to microblading
Lip blushingAbout $550–$1,000Cleveland Clinic cites roughly $500–$1,500 per session nationally, depending on location
Permanent eyelinerAbout $400–$700Upper, lower, or both lash lines change the price
Later touch-ups and color refreshesAbout $250–$700Often priced by how long it has been since the last session

A med spa advertising permanent makeup "from" a much lower price may be quoting a partial service. Always ask what the quoted price includes.

What changes the price

  • The technique: hair strokes, shading, combination brows, lips, or eyeliner
  • Whether the follow-up is included: some studios include the 6–8 week perfecting visit; others charge separately, which makes headline prices hard to compare
  • Artist experience and healed portfolio: senior artists with consistent healed results usually charge more
  • Corrections: covering or adjusting old permanent makeup from another artist can cost more or may not be possible
  • Location and overhead: a permitted private studio, sterile single-use supplies, and quality pigments cost money
  • Long-term maintenance: color refreshes every year or so are part of the real cost

Think in total cost, not first-session price

Permanent makeup is a process. A realistic budget includes the first session, the follow-up after healing, and a color refresh roughly every eight months to two years depending on your skin and sun exposure. A lower first price with a paid follow-up can cost more than a higher price that includes it.

When a low price is a red flag

  • No health questionnaire or consent form before the procedure (both are required in California)
  • Needles or blades that are not opened from sterile, single-use packaging in front of you
  • No healed photos, only fresh results taken right after the procedure
  • Pressure to book immediately, or no consultation
  • Work done somewhere other than a permitted body art facility

Permanent makeup is difficult and expensive to remove, so paying to fix a bargain can cost far more than doing it well once. See how to choose a permanent makeup artist.
